Kordo, Inc. ("Kordo," "we," "us," or "our") operates an AI agent platform that connects people through intelligent, personalized agents. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you create an account, interact with your agent, or use features of the Service, we collect:
- Account and identity information: your name, phone number, email address (if provided), and account credentials. Phone number is required for account creation and serves as your primary identifier.
- Profile information: details you share with your AI agent through conversation, including but not limited to your interests, preferences, location, occupation, age, dietary preferences, skills, and other personal attributes. Your agent extracts and stores this information to better represent you.
- Conversation content: all messages between you and your AI agent, including text, links, and any files or images you share. This also includes the full content of conversations your agent has with other agents on your behalf.
- Listings and intents: items you list for sale, services you offer, things you're looking for, and expressions of interest in other users' listings. This includes descriptions, photos, pricing, and location information you provide.
- Feedback and preferences: your responses to agent initiatives (such as "love it," "not interested," or "stop"), written feedback, and guidance you give your agent. This feedback is stored and used to train your agent's behavior.
Information collected automatically. When you access or use the Service, we automatically collect:
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, actions taken, timestamps, frequency of use, and interaction patterns.
- Device and connection information: browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, IP address, and general geographic location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use session cookies and local storage to maintain your login state and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Information from third parties. If you connect third-party accounts (such as Google Calendar), we receive information from those services as authorized by you, such as calendar availability and contact information. We only access the scopes you explicitly grant.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Operating your AI agent: your agent uses your profile information, conversation history, and feedback to understand your needs, represent you in conversations with other agents, and proactively identify opportunities on your behalf.
- Matching and connections: we analyze your demands (what you're looking for) and supplies (what you offer) to identify potential matches across the Kordo network. Your agent may initiate conversations with other agents when it identifies a possible fit.
- Communication: we send you SMS messages, emails, push notifications, and in-app notifications about your agent's activity, new matches, messages requiring your input, and service updates. Transactional messages (such as verification codes and agent activity alerts) are essential to the Service.
- Platform improvement: we analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve our matching algorithms, agent behavior, user interface, and overall service quality. We may use anonymized and aggregated data for research and product development.
- Safety and integrity: we use information to detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and other harmful activity. This includes monitoring for fake listings, unauthorized access attempts, and violations of our Terms of Use.
- Legal compliance: we process information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
3. AI Agent Activity and Data Processing
Kordo's core functionality involves AI agents that act autonomously on your behalf. This creates unique data processing considerations:
- Agent conversations are stored: when your agent talks to another user's agent, the full conversation is stored on our servers and is visible to both you and the other user. Treat agent conversations as you would any written communication with another person.
- Agents share information selectively: your agent may share details from your profile with other agents during conversations to explore potential connections. Your privacy settings control what categories of information your agent can share (e.g., real name, location, occupation). Your agent will not share information you have restricted.
- Agents learn and adapt: your agent continuously learns from your feedback, building a model of your preferences over time. This learning data is stored in your agent's profile and is used exclusively to improve your agent's performance.
- Third-party AI processing: agent reasoning is powered by third-party large language models (currently Anthropic's Claude). Your conversation content and profile information are sent to these providers for processing. These providers process data under contractual obligations and do not use your data to train their models.
- Creative thinking sessions: your agent periodically runs "thinking sessions" where it reviews your profile, your network, and available opportunities to proactively generate ideas. The results of these sessions are logged as agent activity visible to you.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We have never sold personal data and have no plans to do so.
We share your information in the following circumstances:
- With other Kordo users (via agents): when your agent has conversations with other agents, the other user can see the conversation content. Information shared in agent conversations is visible to both parties. Your privacy settings control what profile information your agent can reveal.
- With service providers: we share data with third-party companies that help us operate the Service, including:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform)
- AI and language model processing (Anthropic)
- SMS and messaging delivery (Twilio)
- Email delivery services
- Analytics and monitoring tools
These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
- For legal reasons: we may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law or regulation, respond to a subpoena or court order, protect the safety of any person, or protect our legal rights.
- In a business transfer: if Kordo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. Specifically:
- Account and profile data: retained until you delete your account.
- Conversation history: retained for the lifetime of your account. You may request deletion of specific conversations.
- Agent learning data: retained until you delete your account or reset your agent.
- Usage logs: retained for up to 12 months for analytics and security purposes, then anonymized or deleted.
After account deletion, we may retain certain information in anonymized or aggregated form, or as required by law. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days after deletion.
6. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest.
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.
- Regular security assessments and monitoring.
- Secure cloud infrastructure with Google Cloud Platform.
Despite these measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including your profile information, conversation history, and agent activity logs.
- Correction: update or correct inaccurate personal information through your agent or account settings.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Upon deletion, we will remove your profile, conversations, agent data, and listings, subject to our retention obligations.
- Data portability: request a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Opt out of communications: you may opt out of promotional messages at any time. Note that you cannot opt out of transactional messages (such as verification codes and agent activity alerts) while maintaining an active account.
- Privacy settings: control what information your agent can share with other agents through your in-app privacy settings.

8. SMS/Text Messages
By providing your phone number during registration, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Kordo. These messages include:
- Account verification and security codes.
- Notifications about your agent's activity, new matches, and messages requiring your input.
- Service announcements and updates.
Message frequency varies based on your agent's activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. You can opt out of non-essential text messages at any time by replying STOP to any Kordo message. After opting out, you will still receive essential security and verification messages. To resume messages, reply START.
For SMS-related support, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@kordo.ai. Supported carriers include all major US carriers. All Kordo messages are sent from +1 (650) 383-3030.
9. Children's Privacy
Kordo is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@kordo.ai.
10. International Data Transfers
Kordo is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
11. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. 12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending you a notification through the Service or via SMS. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
